Researchers at Cambridge University have developed a method that allows detecting light from the earliest stars by peering through clouds of hydrogen. Astronomers have aimed to detect a signal that would be a thousand times weaker than other radio signals. Here, using a radio telescope to trace the signal would result in distortions in the observation.
