The team of researchers have discovered a way to use low-cost iron catalysts to convert CO2 in the atmosphere into synthetic fuel for airplanes. The conversion reaction also produces other by-products which are important raw materials for the petrochemical industry and are presently also only obtained from fossil crude oil.
